Responsibilities:

The Charlotte Lab School Spanish & Quest Teacher will have the following responsibilities as a teacher:

  • Deliver Spanish and Quest instruction to students aligned to the Common Core & NC State Standards
  • Design Spanish Lessons in focused on reading, writing, speaking, listening and cultural studies lessons
  • Use the Workshop Model to facilitate instruction for whole class, small group, individuals, and advisory group
  • Write and plan challenge-based curriculum with grade level team, Quest support and community partners using Lab School’s Quest Framework
  • Serve as an advisor to a small group of students being the family liaison at school
  • Communicate frequently and regularly with families of students and advisees
  • Use flexible grouping & scheduling
  • Integrate technology into daily classroom instruction
  • Encourage self-reflection
  • Evaluate & assess students using standards based learning progressions
  • Analyze data to inform decision making & instructional planning
  • Monitor student progress through mastery tracking and student learning portfolios
  • Participate actively in ongoing professional development and teacher evaluation process
  • Supervise students and maintain a clean, orderly, safe, print-rich and positive classroom learning environment
  • Fulfill all other duties & responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

  • ​Hold an appropriate degree from a relevant institution;

PREPARATION:

  • Are appropriately  licensed or willing to obtain relevant licensure;
  • Have relevant experience;
  • Have an advanced degree in a related field;
  • Have comfort with relevant technology and experience with Google Suite;

Salary & Benefits

Salary will be commensurate with experience and education level.  Full-time positions include health benefits for the employee and the opportunity to contribute to a 403b retirement plan.
